Lakers Add another big Defenseman


Lake Superior State has landed a verbal commitment from 6’-5” defenseman Zach Loesch, from White Bear Lake, MN.  Last season with Pembroke Lumber Kings of the Central Canadian Hockey League Loesch posted 4 goals and 16 assists, including 3 assists on the power play.

Loesch had 3 assists and was -5 in 2010-11 for the Fresno Monsters of the NAHL before being acquired by the Lumber Kings and in 9 games for Pembroke and recording 1 assist.  In 2009-10 as a senior at White Bear Lake Loesch posted 5 goals and 15 assists for 20 points in 24 games, with a +16 rating.

Laker Land 6-5" Forward McKay


The Drayton Valley Thunder of the Alberta Junior Hockey League has announced that forward Austin McKay has committed to Lake Superior State University.  The 6’-5”, 218 pound forward hails from Toronto, Ontario.

In 58 games with the Thunder this season, McKay has netted 26 goals and 27 assists for 53 points, after posting 9 goals and 23 points last season.  In 2009-10 McKay played in 44 games for the North York Rangers of the Ontario Junior Hockey League posting 12-12-24.
