LSSU Comeback Falls Short Against Experienced Calgary Squad

LSSU used their second exhibition game of the TBay Tel Varsity Cup, against Calgary, to get some of their players ice time who have been unable to crack the regular lineup this season. Coach Jim Roque used the opportunity to provide Senior Goaltender Will Ciccone with some much deserved playing time. The veteran Calgary Dinos, whose roster is dominated by former Western Hockey League players, put on an impressive display of forechecking and toppled the Lakers by a score of 6-1 Thursday afternoon in the second day of TBay Tel Varsity Cup action. Nathan Ward scored the lone goal for the Lakers. The Dinos were led by Colin Mcrae with 3 goals and an assist, Brett O'Malley with a goal and 2 assists, Lonnie Tetley and Wes Reid each had a goal. Lake State was out shot by Calgary by a total of 40-21.
