Zach MacVoy to play for LSSU in 2007-08
Lake Superior State University has received a verbal commitment for the 2007-08 season from Zach MacVoy, of the Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League. A 6-foot 1-inch 210 pound right wing from Livonia played for the University of Michigan in 2005-06 scoring 1 goal and recording 4 points in 20 games will come in as a sophomore next season for the Lakers.
MacVoy who saw his playing time diminish at Michigan, getting into only 3 games in the Wolverines final 15 contests and just once in their final 11 games, opted to leave U of M for Omaha with the hopes of landing with another college team that would afford him a better chance to get playing time. This season for the Lancers MacVoy has three assists in 7 games.
Prior to attending Michigan MacVoy spent two seasons with USA Hockey’s developmental program, putting up 10 goals and 34 points in 62 games in 2004-05, and 8 goals and 22 points in 63 games in 2003-04. While playing with team USA MacVoy won gold medals at the 2005 Five Nations Tournament in Sweden, and at the 2004 Compuware Four Nations Cup in Ann Arbor. |
