Martello Signs with the Kitchener Rangers

      		| Kitchener, ON: The Kitchener Rangers Head Coach/General Manager Peter DeBoer announced this morning that the team has signed 2006 6th round selection Matthew Martello.
Matt Martello was dismissed from the Lake Superior State University hockey team because of poor academic progress, LSSU coach Jim Roque announced late Wednesday night.

Martello joins the Rangers after playing the first half of the season with Lake Superior State (NCAA). In 18 games with the Lakers this year Martello scored a pair of goals and added 7 assists.

During his draft year of 2005-06 he led the Vaughan Vipers (OPJHL) in scoring with 28 goals and 66 points in just 48 games.

“We are excited to have a player of Matthew’s character joining the Rangers organization”, said DeBoer. “Matthew looks forward to the opportunity to continue combining his athletic and academic goals in our community”.
