Lakers take on Nation's Leading Scorer
The 15th ranked Lake Superior State University (14-7-5, 10-7-3 CCHA) hockey team will travel to Omaha, Nebraska this weekend to take on the University of Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks (14-11-3, 8-9-3 CCHA). LSSU is 4-5-2 on the road this season while UNO is 8-6-1 at the Qwest Center Omaha. LSSU is coming off of a sweep over Bowling Green last weekend while Omaha is coming back home from an Alaskan trip that saw them beat and tie the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
This weekend's match up against Nebraska-Omaha will mark the 17th and 18th times that these two teams have met since 2000. Lake Superior State University has an all time record against UNO of 10-5-1. Including a 0-4-1 record in their past 5 meetings, LSSU is 3-7-0 in Omaha.
UNO' offence has been good this season with the Mavericks averaging 3.46 goals per game, good for third in the CCHA and 7th in the nation.
